Getting older..

……sucks, but what’s even worse is watching your parents get OLDER.. Wednesday my father had to be taken via paramedics/ambulance to the hospital at 12:57pm… He thought he was having a heart attack… My husband and I rushed to Mira Mesa to pick up my mother so that we can all go to the hospital together.. I called all the girls to give them the news.. When we got to the hospital we found out it was only GAS!!! OMG!!! My father had all the symptoms of a heart attack but thank god it wasn’t…. Whewwww!!! Someone hasn’t been drinking enough h2o and eating their veges…. Of course we were all very thankful and then laughed our heads off!!!! It was pretty hilarious… My husband and I stayed at the hospital until they were ready to d/c my father.. It was almost 6am by the time we dropped my parents off at their house and almost 7am when we got home… I was pretty exhausted but I decided to go to work because I knew I wouldn’t have been able to sleep… I would have been up thinking too much.. When I did get home from work my house was empty. My husband decided to go to the street fair with our pugster… He knew I needed a couple of hours to myself.. I fell asleep pretty early that night and woke up 12hrs later.. It was very much needed…

I am so thankful that my father is ok… It was a pretty scary moment for all of us…..

So far 2012 has been pretty good.. My family and I celebrated my two oldest daughters birthdays, Liz and Amber.. Liz turned twenty seven and Amber twenty five… WOW!!! It’s still so hard for me to believe that all my babies are adults and making adult decisions!! Sometimes when the four of us are together I find myself sitting quitely for a moment and just listening to them.. I am sooo in awe of my children.. Where did they come from??? They are such wonderful human beings.. When the four of us are together it’s like nothing else matters.. We get in our own little world.. And we talk about anything and everything.. We have such a great time together..

The last couple of weeks my husband and I have been fighting this bug that’s been going around.. Someone had it at work and was kind enough to give it to me.. So last weekend I had the flu and this weekend it’s a cold.. I’ve been pretty miserable… I hate being sick… I hope I start feeling better soon..

Lunch and a movie..

Had a date with my handsome husband today since I didn’t have to be at work until tomorrow. We went to Five Guys for a bite to eat then went to the theater next door and saw We Bought a Zoo… I loved it! I laughed, I cried.. It was a real good movie. Definitely a must see for the whole entire family. The place was packed with parents and their children…

Can’t believe I have to go back to work tomorrow.. But it’s probably a good idea before my ass gets any bigger… Talk about being lazy!! whewww!! Need to get back into running more often during the week.. Plus it makes me feel better..

Thank goodness for a day off..

I recently started learning how to knit, so last night I stayed up until 2-3 am knitting… Of course I had to undo it this morning when I realized I totally screwed it up.. But it’s ok.. I am just learning… I did stepped out of the house for a bit this morning to do some errands.. I took Buddy with me just so he can ride in the car.. We went to the post office and the bank.. Afterwards we took a drive by the beach just to enjoy the beautiful day in O’side…

What are everyones plans for the New Year?? I think my husband and I will be staying in again this year.. Not much of a party animal anymore. Plus I just don’t feel like going out and driving.. People can get very stupid this time of year.. I’d rather stay home…

Aside from spending time with my children, who I really don’t see very often, Santa was real good to me this year.. He brought me a Kindle Fire, jewelry, cute toes socks, perfume and a Coach purse… What great gifts did Santa bring you??

Amazing day…

This year my family and I tried something different. We did brunch instead of our usual early dinner… And the reason for this was because we decided to do some volunteer work on Christmas day.. At first when we planned it everyone was able to go, but the closer we got to the actual day it was just too hard. Some of the kids have other families now… So everyone showed up at my parents house around 9:00 am to start the festivities. We ate ham, scrambled eggs, homemade waffles, fruit salad, pumpkin pies and for beverages, we had coffee and Memosa’s…. After we ate we opened presents… It turned out real nice.. I love being with my family… It’s not very often that I get to be with them anymore, specially my girls.. They’re always so busy…

By 12:15pm my parents, husband and I drove to Veterans Village of San Diego.. We helped out with setting the tables. We also assisted with getting the dessert tables ready. And by 2:30pm the place was already for dinner… My family and I really enjoyed being there and just chit chatting with all the vets.. I have such great admiration for them.. At one point as my mother and I sat at one of the tables taking a break, I watched my father and husband shake everyones hands and wishing them all a Merry Christmas and thanking them for all that they’ve done.. My husband was at the door greeting everyone.. And my father was going to every table asking each and every person if he could get them anything… My father was going back and forth to the drink and dessert stand getting them whatever they wanted.. After he was done he sat down and chit chatted with them… It was nice to see my father so happy… I’m hoping the next time we do some volunteer work my children will be able to join us…

Leap Year ♥♥♥♥

February 29, 2012 will be our 1st year anniversary.. The hubby and I were married on Leap Year four years ago.. It was one of the happiest day of my life… The whole day was perfect!! ♥♥

Thane and I have been together for five years now… We were together one year before we made it official.. And before that we were friends for three years… Pretty amazing!! I have to say that the first two years was the hardest for us.. He was in and out of the hospital most of the time due to the motorcycle accident…He had no one else to care for him but me… The experience definitely made us both love each other unconditionally.. We got to see each other at our worse when normal couples usually see it later in the relationship… It certainly made our bond with one another stronger… During his stay at the hospital, Thane felt so vulnerable! He was not used to being so defenseless and exposed.. Poor guy!! He went through so many procedures.. Lucky for him he had amazing doctors and nurses that really loved their jobs .. Thane just recently went to the Scripps Trauma Reunion just this month… We have been going every year since his accident… It gives us a chance to say “thank you” to all the wonderful doctors and nurses that saved his life… ♥♥

I am very much looking forward to many more anniversaries with my husband… There’s not a day that goes by that my husband doesn’t amaze me with his strength and love for life… I am truly a very lucky girl… ♥ ♥
